Lem., also known as confederate jasmine,[2] star jasmine,[3] confederate jessamine,[3] and Chinese star jessamine, Chinese Pinyin: Luo Shi, Simplified Chinese: 络石, 石龙藤, 万字花, 万字茉莉, 石鲮), is an evergreen woody liana in genus Trachelospermum (botanical dogbane family, Apocynaceae). Found on the riverbanks, along the roadsides, forest edge and in the bushes, the plant can grow to 3 m (10 ft) tall. The roots, stem, leaves and fruit of Trachelospermum jasminoides is used as carminative, muscles and joints relaxant, hemostatic (stops bleeding drug) and discutient in traditional Chinese medicine (CTM) and widely adopted in treating different diseases and health problems, such as gonorrhea and pharyngitis.
